Song to a singer of songs

for yb

no stargazer really ends;
starlight travels to us from the past,
light visioned eyes travel to the future,
tracing a circle large as time.

no seagazer really ends;
tides wash our shores from elsewhere,
sea distanced eyes move on with them,
to return or not, the circle is the same.

no roadgazer really ends;
all paths lead to here from there
pass smiling eyes, move on again,
path tracing, path making, path joining.

and the song sung to the stars, to the sea, to the road
may fade a while but the melody never really ends.
